Important Plastic Card Announcement 
 
The Treasury Department Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that we have partnered with MasterCard to provide Debit and Credit Cards.
 
I. Debit Cards
  
1.      Last date for use of current Visa card – March 25, 2014
2.      First date for use of new MasterCard card – March 26, 2014
Your new Debit MasterCard will be mailed to you in early March. Kindly activate your new Debit MasterCard and begin using it on March 26, 2014. Your current Visa debit card will not work after March 25, 2014. If you have recurring payments tied to your current Visa debit card, kindly contact the vendors and give them your new debit MasterCard information.
 
3.      What will be different?
a.       PIN and Signature transactions will have real time approval and settlement. 
b.      Card Security
PIN and ATM based transactions will have Falcon Security Monitoring System. Members will receive calls for any unusual transactions.
c.       Debit Card enhancements
-          Satisfaction Guarantee
If you become dissatisfied with a product you purchase using your card within 60 days of the purchase, and the store will not accept a return, you may be eligible for a refund for the cost of the product up to $250.
-          Price Protection
If you buy something with your card and then see it advertised at a lower price within 60 days, this benefit can refund the difference.
-          Extended Warranty
Most manufacturer warranties are doubled for up to one additional year.
 
4.       What will be the same?
-          MasterCard Global Service
Provides you with 24-hour assistance with lost and stolen card reporting, emergency card replacement, and emergency cash advance
-          Zero Liability protection against unauthorized purchases
Pay only for purchases which you have authorized on your MasterCard.
 
 
 
II.       Credit Cards
1.      Last date for use of current Visa Credit card – March 23, 2014
2.      First date for use of new MasterCard Credit card – March 24, 2014
 
3.      What will be the same?
a.       ScoreCard Rewards
At this point ScoreCard Reward points will remain the same.
b.      Zero liability protection against unauthorized purchases
c.       MasterCard Global Service
d.      Falcon Security Monitoring System
 
4.      What will be different?
a.       Introductory interest rates for purchases and balances transfers.
b.      Different interest rates for cash advances.
c.       Penalty interest rates for delinquencies.
d.      Extended Warranty
e.       Price Protection
f.       Identity Theft Resolution Services

If you receive any request about your account these are the only authorized telephone numbers you should call.

 

1.      DO NOT provide your debit or credit card number, PIN, expiration date or any account information in response to a computer generated call claiming to be from the Treasury Department Federal Credit Union.  DO NOT respond to the computer generated calls.  If you receive one of these calls and are not sure what to do, please contact us immediately at the numbers listed below.
2.      The Treasury Department Federal Credit Union does not send out emails with attachments requesting that you download information onto your computer.  If you receive a request that appears to be from the Treasury Department Federal Credit Union with an attachments requesting that you downloading information to your computer for security, DO NOT DO IT.
3.      The Treasury Department Federal Credit Union does not call, email or text message members or potential members requesting information or a response about their accounts. For your own protection, do not provide your Treasury Department Federal Credit Union account information in response to any telephone calls, email or text message you receive.  If you receive a telephone call, email or text message about your account with the Treasury Department Federal Credit Union, as a precaution, please contact us prior to responding at (800) 344-4497 to verify the request.  Please send a copy of the text message or any suspicious web site links to the email address below  tdfcu_alert@tdfcu.com..
